Bianca's Thesis

Bianca de Loryn’s PhD research explored how the COVID-19 pandemic shaped digital nomads’ perspectives. This qualitative research involved Bianca’s analysis of data collected from Facebook and semi-structured interviews with digital nomads and co-working hosts in Chian Mai, Thailand. Bianca’s thesis highlights how the interviewed digital nomads understood key concepts, such as work, freedom, and home during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

To assist Bianca with her thesis preparation, I provided copyediting and design assistance. I first redesigned a key research figure with an illustrative style to compare the digital nomad lifestyle with a typical nine-to-five lifestyle. Similar colours and fonts were then applied to the remaining figures while I worked to enhance their representation of Bianca's theoretical framework and research findings.
